Removeability

Well, since the words “paint” & “coating” are being used on many product these days we would like to point out some characteristics so you have all the facts on the table to make you consider if a paint coating will suit you… At the bottom line we like our customers to be happy with the N-XTC Sync. Quartz Coat 4D, and happiness can only be reached if we are honest upfront and ask you 5 minutes of time to rethink on what your customer actually wants. Paint Coatings (or also called Glass Coatings or Quartz Coatings) sometimes can be too sticky and with that hard to apply, when they start to dry they might get a bit like glue (bubble gum effect) on the paint. This is often a result of (too) much humidity and it can turn out that any paint coating cannot cure. Then when it cannot cure completely you want to get this non – result off of the paint. This is where the trouble – part really starts, especially if you have no experience with paint coatings you can feel like not knowing what to do. In our education we teach the N-XTC Sync. Quartz Coat 4D - application centres all details on how to apply safely, as well as how to remove them safely. A proper paint coating applied corrrectly will haze a bit after its 2 hours of first curing and 24 hours of complete curing, this haze, with a quality product, can be wiped off easily with a short piled microfiber towel. When this is not the case and the residu is hard and set and with that difficult to remove you might end up scratching the (coated) surface because you need so much pressure buffing off the haze. Another common issue can be that paint coatings cure pretty clear and “glasslike” but streaks (or hologrammes, from the application) set into the paint coating and finish with this in a horrible result. Knowledge is power in this case and therefore we always want to train anyone who is interested applying the N-XTC Sync. Quartz Coat 4D with no marring and maximum brightness and shine. Removing the N-XTC Sync. Quartz Coat 4D; The N-XTC Sync. Quartz Coat 4D is after the 7 days of complete curing like a thin and even coat of glass. This coating is chemically “hard” and is mechanically “anchored” with the paint. The N-XTC Sync. Quartz Coat 4D penetrates into the pores of the paint. Therefore with normal care it cannot be removed. Mechanical removeability: in the basis is every mechanical attempt like polishing or sanding abrasive. A finishing – polish will not be strong enough to remove the N-XTC Sync. Quartz Coat 4D, some passes with a woolpad and a strong – cutting compound will take of some of the coating, if it will take off all of the coating will depend on how many layers were build up and for how long these have hardened. It can well be that several passes will be needed. In case of spot repairs or paintjobs we advise to sand the coating with 2000 or 1500 grit which is a little less abrasive then regular sanding with paintjobs which often take as from 1000 grit. For any paintjob there is no need for fear that the new layer of paint will not adhese to the surface. N-XTC Sync. Quartz Coat 4D is an additional transparent layer which is easy to remove with sanding. N-XTC Sync. Quartz Coat 4D contains no volatile silicones which can cause issues with adhesion. Chemical removeability: Specific cleaners with acid – based content are available like hydrofluoric acid, ammonium bi – fluride and concentrated acetic acid. These cleaners attack any silicium – based coating and break this down. Please note very carefully that these cleaners are specific and use needs special knowledge. These cleaners can also potentially damage parts of the car. Therefore we can only advise you to be extreme careful with these products. We prefer the mechanical removeability which might be a bit more work, but it is safe and controllable to a good result.
